10 points that make the Goberian Dog personality so special

If you are in a dilemma whether to adopt a Siberian husky or a Golden retriever, then you are not alone. The intelligence and smartness of the Siberian husky are the dominant points that make people think of acquiring them, while the charm and loyalty of the Golden Retriever are too hard to ignore. In such circumstances, the breeders have come up with a solution. The Goberian, a cross between the Golden retriever and the Siberian husky, has the traits of both their parents. The personality of Goberians has impressed the dog owners. If you have little or no idea of this breed, read on, as we elaborate on the personality of Goberians in detail.

Goberians are friendly and incredibly affectionate

Dog owners looking for a four-legged companion that can become their best friend would be more than happy to adopt a Goberian. The breed is renowned for its social skills, and they love human interaction. It hardly matters whether you are a loner or you have many family members, Goberians will treat everyone as their best friend. With a Goberian around, you should always be ready for a cuddle, a play session, or even a lazy afternoon nap.  Thus, this hybrid breed is ideal for families that have children, anyone who wants a loyal companion, and people who prefer having a dog that will remain by their side for the rest of their lives.

Smart and fast learners

As mentioned before, the Goberians are famous for their brilliant minds. Incidentally, both the husky and the Golden retriever are known for their intelligence and being very intelligent. Likewise, the Goberians have picked up these qualities from their parents and exercise the same. As a result, training them is a walk in the park. While training them, you will notice they are picking up commands within seconds, and can equally excel in obedience training, while learning new tricks and tasks.

Unbelievably energetic

One thing is for sure: with Goberains around, you will constantly feel a bundle of energy roaming around. Whether you take it for a long hike or a trip to the dog park, the breed enjoys physical activities to the core. It is in their nature to love doing things that have a purpose that can match their energy levels. So, Goberians are the best pets for people who love spending time outdoors. With their unending stamina and love for exploration, they will become your favorite companions in no time.

In this context, let us also understand the scenarios where these dogs are not ideal, and they are:

  • People residing in apartments.
  • Those who hardly love to spend outside and rather prefer spending time on the couch.
  • Individuals (elderly people in particular) who have limited mobility.

Very gentle with kids

Here, their Golden Retriever roots make them gentle, soft-hearted, and patient with children. You will never find them to show aggressive behavior, and they will love playing outside with children in your home. The key is to socialize them from an early age. As they are good learners, they will exhibit more tolerance while being with kids. Remember, though, Goberians are big dogs, so there is a possibility of knocking the toddlers during playtime. Thus, adequate supervision is a must.

Greatly protective

The other aspect that owners love about the Goberians is their protective personality. They are always alert and will instantaneously bark when they sight strangers. However, they have a good sense of guests and would greet them by wagging their tails when they notice their owners are comfortable with the other person. The very characteristics make them ordinary guard dogs, but a good watchdog.

Goberians are always curious

Their high energy levels make them over-curious. As a result, they are always up for some adventure. You will find them sniffing around, chasing small animals, and checking on new things. This habit can pose a risk for other pets like rabbits, cats, or any other small pets you may have in your home. However, early training and making them familiar with the other pets would make them familiar with the other pet members, and they will not chase them.

Emotional and sensitive

The big dog can be very sensitive. As already mentioned, they love being around their owners, they can sense the mood well. So, expect a small snuggle from them when you are not in the best of moods, and a momentary dance when you are in a good frame of mind. By any chance, if they witness yelling or shouting among family members, it can have a negative effect on them. In such scenarios, they will immediately withdraw from the place or act strangely.

Love to socialize

Never leave a Goberian isolated, as they do take it well. In situations where the breed was left alone for long hours, they tend to develop separation anxiety and are prone to destructive behaviors, quite the opposite of the character they otherwise portray. They cannot stay away from human interaction for too long. Expect them to exhibit barking, digging, or chewing if this ever happens. For people who are prone to a busy life, either do not consider a Goberian as a pet, or if you want to, employ someone else who can take care of the pet when you are away.

Their personality keeps evolving with age

Like human beings, the Goberian’s personality can change as they grow older. The pups will naturally be more naughty and wild, and it is hard to keep up with them. Gradually, as they mature, they become calmer and well-behaved. Of course, the training has a lot to do with this case. Assuming you give it early training, then you can expect a loyal, faithful, and everlasting companion.

Is a Goberian the right dog for you?

After learning the personality of the Goberian, dog lovers should have already realized whether it can fit into their family. Its energy, sense of independence, and smartness need to be matched equally. Therefore, they are ideal for active families and individuals who have enough time to attend them. They will not accept loneliness, as mentioned before, so you cannot consider a Goberian if you are a lone member and stay away from home frequently, not arranging for someone to look after the breed.
